DigiMenu: Transform Your Local Business Experience with Digital Menus

Today, after only around a month of development, I have finally launched DigiMenu - a simple web app built to help small to medium sized local food businesses begin to establish their online presence.

Why is this so important?

We already know that having an online presence has never been more important today than ever before. However, we can't deny that majority (if not all) of web services providers out there do not really fit a small business's budget.

 This is because having a full-blown website requires costs on development, hosting, security, domain, and maintenance - something most small food businesses or startups do not exactly have to pay for when all they need starting out is a simple online presence where their customers will get to know and familiarize what they have to offer - their food and beverages!

Why I built this?

I come from a rural town in Cebu, Philippines.

Here, there are lots of cafes, hotels, hostels, restaurants, bars, and other small businesses mainly catered to tourists. I personally am fond of going to cafes and working there to have a fresher working environment than in my room.

On top of that, there are so many tourists!

And as I navigate around my town finding great places to work or simply try out. I have noticed that a lot of these places couldn't be found online at all, or it's hard to know at first glance what amazing menu they can serve.

And with that, along with my desire as a web developer to continuously strive to improve myself, I decided to create my own solution - something that allows people to know more about a small food business somewhere in town and the good things they can offer, all in their mobile phones.

I also noticed that most of these businesses require a lot of paper and plastic so they can print out their menus, which is fine. However, DigiMenu would definitely be a good idea for businesses interested in cutting down their printing costs through an eco-friendly solution.

Conclusion

DigiMenu was created with one goal in mind: to bridge the gap between small local food businesses and the digital world without breaking the bank. By offering an affordable, easy-to-use solution, it empowers business owners to take control of their online presence and reach more customers. This is just the beginning, and I’m excited to see how DigiMenu will evolve to meet the growing needs of local businesses everywhere.
